Mobile saunas business | commercial grade saunas
Professional Grade
Not all saunas are built the same. A sauna business often finds kit saunas falling apart in as little as a few years. BW has 5+ years experience building heavy duty commercial saunas from the ground up, designed for extended sessions day in day out, for the long haul.

Built for the weekend vs. built for the business
Custom build means less fail points, stronger construction and a sauna that lasts decades, not just a few years.
Lasting Heat
Our saunas heat up fast, and hold that heat longer.
Low Maintenance
We've designed our saunas to be easy to clean and maintain.
10+ Years
Built to handle consistent use without wearing out.
Built for occasional use
Kit or Barrel Saunas
Lifespan under daily use
One to three years before major issues appear.
Wall construction
Single-layer assembly. No breathing cavity. Moisture builds up behind the cladding and the walls rot from the inside.
Heater sizing
Sized to the manufacturer's stated volume rating. Assumes ideal conditions. Struggles to hold temperature across back-to-back sessions.
Bench construction
Fixed benches. Cleaning is partial. Surfaces under and behind the benches are never properly washed.
Exterior finish
Often wood finishes that fade, crack, and weather. Looks worn by year two. Needs refinishing.
Interior finish
Built quickly to a timeline or a budget. Seam gaps and rough trim show up over time as the unit cycles. The customer sitting inside sees a cheap experience.
Long-term value
A ten to fifteen thousand dollar unit that needs replacing every few years. Customer experience degrades long before the unit fails. Within two to three years it starts to feel musty and worn.
Built to last for the long haul
BW Mobile Sauna
Lifespan under daily use
Five to ten plus years of daily operation with standard maintenance.
Wall construction
Eight-layer heat system with wood furring strips between the interior cladding and the heat shield. The cavity breathes. Moisture moves out instead of building up behind the wall.
Heater sizing
Sized from real-world install data across five plus years of building experience. Manufacturer volume ratings are a starting point, not the answer. The unit holds temperature through a full day of back-to-back sessions.
Bench construction
Removable benches. Full washdown access. Cleaning is fast and consistent between sessions.
Exterior finish
Metal siding standard. Weather resistant. Does not fade. Looks the same in year five as it did in year one.
Interior finish
Custom home building quality. Every seam and trim done by people who do this for a living. The interior holds up because it was built right the first time.
Long-term value
Two to three times the working life of a kit sauna. The customer experience in year five still feels like year one. The asset keeps earning instead of needing to be replaced.
The first unit costs less. The second unit costs less to own.
Why choose BW Sauna Co. for your business
Simply put, our saunas do not wear out. Most come to us having tried the barrel or kit sauna path, and have simply worn out their old unit and need something that will last longer.
We understand that a commercial sauna needs to do more than look good. It needs to be durable and function daily at a level most kit and barrel saunas were never designed for.
Whether you are adding a sauna to a resort, wellness space, Airbnb, retreat property, spa, or hospitality business, a BW unit is an asset that will serve the business for years, and even decades, with good maintenance.

Real questions from operators building rental fleets, event businesses, and pop-up wellness brands.
What does a BW mobile sauna cost?
BW mobile saunas start at around $40,000 and go up to $60,000 or higher with custom options. Pricing depends on size, heater spec, interior wood, exterior finish, and any custom build elements.
Every quote comes out of the build conversation. The most accurate way to get a number is to start a conversation about what you plan to do with the unit.
How long does it take to build a BW mobile sauna?
Build times typically run 4 to 8 weeks from order to delivery, with faster turns as low as 4 to 6 weeks depending on customization and current shop queue. Seasonality matters. Spring and pre-summer orders fill faster than off-season builds.
Operators planning around a seasonal launch should reach out well ahead of when the unit needs to be on the road.
How long does a BW mobile sauna last under commercial use?
BW mobile saunas are built as lifetime business assets. The unit is designed to last as long as the business runs it.
The difference comes down to how the unit is built. BW uses an eight-layer heat system with wood furring strips between the interior cladding and the heat shield, which lets the wall cavity breathe and prevents the moisture buildup that rots cheaper saunas from the inside. Removable benches give full washdown access. Metal siding handles weather without fading.
Kit and barrel saunas are not designed for daily commercial cycling. Under that kind of use, the materials and construction methods that work for occasional residential use start to fail.
What sizes of mobile sauna does BW build?
BW builds three standard mobile sauna models:
The Huron — 6.5 x 10ft mobile sauna, 5 to 8 person capacity.
The Superior — 6.5 x 12ft trailer sauna, 7 to 10 person capacity.
The Gooseberry — 6.5 x 14ft portable sauna, 10 to 12 person capacity.
Each model is built to the same construction spec. Custom sizes are also available, ranging from smaller 6.5 x 8 builds to larger trailer saunas for commercial applications.
Does BW build custom sizes?
Yes. Custom builds are a core part of what BW does, ranging from 6.5 x 8 compact builds to large trailer saunas for commercial applications. Operators with specific capacity needs, fleet considerations, or commercial use cases typically build a custom unit rather than picking a standard model.
The conversation starts with how the unit will be used. Sizing, interior, exterior, and heater spec follow from there.
What heater brands does BW install?
BW primarily uses IKI, Kuuma, and Harvia heaters. These are the recommended brands based on performance under commercial cycling and field-proven reliability.
Any heater brand can be installed at customer request. The three recommended brands cover the wood-fired and electric range that most operators need.
How is the heater sized?
BW sizes heaters from real-world install data across five plus years of building experience, not from manufacturer volume ratings.
Manufacturer volume ratings assume ideal conditions, ideal wood types, and ideal energy output. Commercial cycling is not ideal conditions. Sizing from real installs is how the unit holds temperature through a full day of back-to-back sessions instead of struggling between cycles.
What interior and exterior materials does BW use?
Interior wood options are wide-ranging. Standard options include knotty and clear cedar and aspen, with exotic wood options also available on request.
Exterior is corrugated metal standard. Custom exterior finishes and materials are available on request. The metal siding is weather resistant and does not fade like cheaper wood-finish options.
Can a BW mobile sauna run off-grid?
Yes. BW builds wood-fired units that run completely off-grid. This is the standard choice for operators serving remote events, beach sites, campsites, and lake properties without dedicated electrical hookups.
Electric-heater units are also available for fixed-site operators or operators serving venues with available power.
Does BW deliver nationwide?
Yes. BW delivers nationwide, with delivery terms agreed during the build conversation. The unit is built on a trailer chassis, so delivery is straightforward in most markets.
Delivery details, route, and timing are confirmed before the build completes.
Does BW offer a warranty?
BW does not offer a formal written warranty. What BW does is stand behind every build. If a problem comes up, BW comes out and helps fix it. The relationship continues after delivery.
This is how a small, owner-operated builder works. Every unit is built by people who put their name on it, and they own the result over the life of the sauna.
What maintenance does a commercial mobile sauna require?
Between sessions: wipe down the benches, sweep the floor, refill water for the heater. The removable benches give full washdown access for fast cleaning.
Periodic maintenance covers the heater, the door seal, the chimney on wood-fired units, and the trailer mechanicals.
BW units are designed for fast cleaning. Removable benches and finished interior surfaces are what make consistent commercial cycling possible.
Do I need permits to run a mobile sauna business?
Mobile saunas operate on a trailer chassis, so they generally do not require building permits the way a fixed structure would. Standard business licensing, liability insurance, and trailer registration apply.
Event-based operations sometimes need temporary use permits at the venue level. Health department rules vary by state and county, particularly around water and waste handling.
Every market is different. Worth checking local requirements before launching in a new region.
What is the difference between a BW mobile sauna and a barrel sauna?
Barrel saunas are built from staved wood in a cylindrical shape, typically as kit assemblies for backyard residential use. They are not designed for daily commercial cycling. Under daily use the wood expands, contracts, and develops gaps. The heat profile inside a barrel is also less even than a rectangular sauna because the curved walls and ceiling reflect heat differently.
BW mobile saunas are custom-built rectangular cabins on a trailer chassis. Eight-layer wall assembly, metal siding, removable benches, and a heater sized to the actual unit volume. The build is closer to a custom home sauna than to a backyard kit. Every unit is designed as a lifetime business asset.
